Just to give a little overview of who I am: I am currently enrolled at the ComputerTraining.com school in Independence which is just outside of Cleveland. I am not being told to post these nor am I employed by this school. I am simply a current student that believes in an education in IT and also know and can prove what these certifications can do for you.
This "overview" from someone that was not willing to get into the program and push for a better future is terribly riddled with misinformation....
First: The online entrance exam yes the first part of the test is extremely easy as this part of the test is designed to determine if you at least know basic and I mean really basic computer skills. The second part of the test is designed to give questions that are based on course work from the first two months of class so that they can determine where you currently sit within the program. and the third test which most people never see is of content covered late in the program. These tests allow the staff to determine where you are based on your current knowledge. The person who wrote in here acts as if they use this as a sales pitch. Yes the national average is only 2 right on the second test...I got 6 right on it and I know I got 6 right...it wasn't just part of a pitch.
Second: Of course they will try and contact you quickly they do make money off of doing this...do you think that facilities that provide education just do it for free...of course not...after they contact you they do setup a meeting with you that has for a lack of better words a "sales pitch". Once again...I also went to college...you get a very similar speech there too...they are there to make money as well as provide you with an education!!!
Third: You said you met with an MBA, I can tell you that yes someone with a degree in business would be the person someone would want running the admissions department but when it comes to those who are teaching you in these programs the instructors ARE highly certified and very professional.
Forth: The cost...$13,500 dollars is all it was going to cost you for an education and you though this was expensive?!?!?! I hate to tell you but go look into getting a college degree and you will think this program is a bargain. You can get a job with these certifications
