    Corporate Advocacy Program
I just recently took the 6 month course from Towson,MD., and 2 months into the program, I had bad feelings about this class, being very misleading. As far as the "ON HANDS TRAINING" you only get to do hands on 1 time on most all subjects, however, We were not taught everything that we needed to know. We went over all of the basic situations, but getting into the deep end, that was just talked about in class, with no hands on.The school was to let everybody believe that they will give the students what they need to pass the exams, which isn't true. The school suggested to get more additional test prep from places like www.testking.com, ect. Students from Computertraining.com pays 22K for the school, and there shouldn't be a need to purchase extra TEST PREP from other 3rd parties.

During the seminar, Greg Meisenhelter had a huge amount of misleading information, just to get people to sign up for the class to be the New ComputerTraining Students.Me and my parents were told alot of misleading information, that after a couple of months in the class, I realized that me and my family have been fooled. Anybody can Graduate this school, because all you have to do is, attend your classes from beginning to end, and the students will recieve a Graduation Certificate. The students can eat dinner during class, come to school late, and leave early all the time, miss days on end, and still get there Graduation Certificate, because there isn't any type of Exam from ComputerTraining.com itself. All Exams are done at Microsoft, and ComputerTraining doesn't have anything to do with Microsoft themselves. The only job force that came to school to talk to the students was 1 company, and that was "BEST BUY". At the end of school, the students find out that they need alot more schooling, and other degrees, and certificates to get the 30k-60k year salary, like they advertise on radio stations. The class is usually about 18 students. For 1 class, 2 times a week for 4 hours long, With 22K from each student signing a contract for the 6 month course, comes out to $396,000.00 that the school makes out and they cann't even get the students to pass all the Exams. Out of my class (18) students, only 1 student passed all the Exams with purchasing Extra test prep for Microsoft Exams. 15 students has only passed there first Exam as a MCP ( Microsoft Certified Proffesional ), and 2 students Have not even been certified for the MCP.

So, 17 students Graduated school, and never recieved their MCSA, or MCSE. This goes to show that the school is not teaching correctly. Beware of the misleading advertisements, and seminars. Don't waist your time. Buy the books from Microsoft, and purchase Test Prep Material, and go take the exams, Don't pay 22K for something that will not be worth your time and money. You need to have more schooling than MCP,MCSA, and MCSE, to make more than 35K per year salary. DO NOT BE FOOLED! "RIP-OFF"

You get what you give...

AUTHOR: Adam - Timonium (U.S.A.)

I think some of your statements are true, but readers do need to consider the source as with everything. The complaintant makes accusations, but yet never admits what his/her success was with the program.

An attempt is made to accomodate all students, such as allowing them to eat during class and having a somwhat "liberal leave" policy. The school knows that these are people who have already worked a complete 8+ hour work day and they will be tired, hyngry and occasionally things will come up.

The complaintant should be honest with him/herself and admit that they did not put forth effort in the program. You quote graduation and certification figures, but yet do not state what certifications you achieved. I can tell you that those who realy work hard and earn their advanced certs, will get jobs sooner and more easily. Another factor to consider is the student themself. Your posting is riddled with mispellings and improper use of the English language. So it would appear that the complaintant is an uneducated, lazy person who did not apply themselves and did not EARN a certification past that of MCP (IF even that).

You get what you give... study hard, apply yourself, push yourself, get all the certifications you can (MCP, MCSA & MCSE) in the program and you will find work in the IT field.

I personally know of at least 5 people who passed the course, WITH MCSE, had no prior experience and they got jobs quickly after graduating that paid in excess of $40K

computer training

AUTHOR: Steve - Phila (U.S.A.)

All these schools are a bunch of bull. Every time that commercial comes on it makes me sick. They are scamming people all over the place too. It may not be for everybody thats true so whats the point. Spend $25k on a business that will take off.

ComputerTraining in Annapolis Junction, they are all the same

AUTHOR: Msimeowmix - Lusby (U.S.A.)

I went to computertraining.com and still am having a hard time paying the student loan provided by the school from Sallie Mae (which I still can't understand why it was a variable interest rate).

They assisted me in finding a job (with a shaky company). I didn't stay at the company long, and soon after they lost their contract with Apple to do help desk support (my job).

Not only that, but they switched my teacher in the middle of the class. I successfully got my MCP (with help from the first teacher) and attempted the tests for the MCSA & MCSE. Soon after they switched teachers, the new teacher was arrogant and didn't help very much.

I am disappointed that they would be willing to tell you that you can make a whole bunch of money in the commercial and fail to say how much the student loan is for approximately.

The complaints that everyone has here basically is that we all would've been better off just getting the books from the library and taking the test. It's ridiculous to pay a student loan for a 6 month school that you can get 4 years of college for. Also once you have gone through half the class they will not reimburse you if you decide this isn't the path you want to go down.

This is one of my only regrets in this life. This will be a rip off that I will be paying for years down the road now.

Depends on your definition of "Rip-Off"

AUTHOR: Digitrax - Towson (U.S.A.)

First off, let me emphasize that I have no axe to grind. I have not attended the school, nor do I intend to (I already possess MCP and MCSE certifications), but I HAVE heard the radio ads and have a friend who was interested in attending and asked me to assess it as an IT professional.
So I went to an "orientation meeting" and here are my observations:

They do what they purport to do - that is, provide you with the training necessary to receive Microsoft certs and HELP with job placement. They don't guarantee your success in GETTING the certs or getting a job - no one can.

The radio ad is somewhat misleading - you are capable of getting a $50K+ job with these certifications, but not without several years experience as an IT pro. You'll probably make 28-35K right "out of school."

It IS overpriced - You should be aware that if you are not a "self starter" who accepts, relishes, and rises above challenges, you'll find it tough going. I cannot comment on the quality or availability of instructors, but it seems to me that one instructor per 15-20 students would be fine for a normal two year course of study (which typically costs less), but is a bit slim for "an accelerated 6 month course." If on the other hand, you ARE the ambitious "self starter" that could complete course and flourish in this environment, you could most likely study independently the Microsoft materials and receive these certs for A LOT LESS money.

All this being said, if you are an IT "semi-pro" (networking your own computers or those at a small business, and proficient at most apps but lacking certification) and can't (or won't) attend one of the super-accelerated "boot camps" intended as refresher courses for IT pros, and need the structure of a classroom to "git 'er done," you might benefit from this course.
