I was called by a William Grant with Am. Family Publishers two times before they got me. They called back stating they were the company associated with Ed McMann and Dick Clark and stated I had won $500,000.00. I didn't believe them at first.

He then went on the say they would be arriving on Wednesday at 8:41A.M. on a private flight into our local airport (he knew the name of our airport) with a cashiers check, 4 limos, 17 people from their company - the president of the company, himself (senior vice president) etc., video camera crew, people from accounting for me to sign tax forms and release forms so I can be used in the commericals on TV. They were going to be escorting me to my bank to deposit the check.

He then told me to have 10 of my family and friends at my house when they arrived. So all l0 of us could go to the best restaurant of my choice for a luncheon. He said he would call back after talking to the accounting department about my tax liability.

Then 20 minutes later he called back and told me prior to his arrival on Weds. I was going to have to establish with the Federal Reserve Bank in Seattle, Washington with the assistant U.S. Attorney a tax escrow account. I had to deposit $4,986.12 in the account. This was Saturday night and I was going to have to wire this money by Western Union.

I then told him that if this was legitimate he was going to have to take the money out of my winnings to establish this account, because I would not be sending him any money. All I heard next was the click of the phone as he hung up.

He had me on the phone for about 45 minutes the first time and about 15 minutes the second time. I am embarrassed to admit I did begin to believe him. I thank God I didn't fall for the scam. He was a good con artist, very believable. Beware!!
