My name is Gil Medina and I'm here to set the record straight in regards to this completely erroneous rip off report. It is a shame that people are allowed to write anything that they'd like about anybody that they may have had differences with. Am I a felon? Yes. I was convicted in Federal Court for obstruction of justice in a case involving my ex-wife. My federal prison number is 13958-081, check my record for yourselves. As far as taking money from investors and not coming through on agreed terms in business dealings, this also is a false accusation. I have not been confronted or sued by anybody, for anything, relating to contracts or job commitments unfulfilled. I work closely with A-List film star Danny Trejo, who has been a business partner of mine for 10 years, and if the false report was true, this would not allow me to continue having relationships with actors of his notoriety or continue to work in Hollywood. I challenge this individual who wrote this slanderous report to come up with some factual documentation backing up your lie. For those individuals interested in finding out the true story, please contact Gary Potter, the court appointed investigator on my Fed case at 801-231-5002. Let the true and public record speak for itself and don't believe everything you read, this could be you defending you character against anonymous slanderers.

set the facts straight about Gil

I have been working with Gil Medina for many years, on numerous projects, and it pains me to see the slanderous posting against this man. His case involves his ex-wife, not a child, and if people would look at the case more closely they would see that Gil went to prison for obstruction of justice, not for any type of pedophilia or shady business dealings. It's a shame that anybody can post anything they'd like without showing any proof to back it up. In days past, that would have been called slander, and these anonymous slanders could be sued for libel. I continue to work with Gil closely on film projects and if he was what these few people say he is then I wouldn't be working with him. Neither would the many A-List actors on his projects. He has always come through on any financial arrangements that we entered into and I hope that individuals doing business with him will get to know who he is really, not what some misinformed false accusers say about him with no proof.

Posted: 6:03 PM- A Salt Lake City actor and filmmaker has been accused of having sex with an underage girl and flying her to Los Angeles at least twice for the encounters.

Gilbert L. Medina - who recently wrote, directed, produced and appeared in "Jack's Law," a revenge drama filmed in Utah that featured Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson as a defense attorney - was arrested Thursday at his downtown condominium, said FBI Agent Scott Wall.

After a brief appearance Friday before U.S. District Magistrate David Nuffer, the 37-year-old was ordered held pending a detention hearing. The charge of transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity filed against him carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum of 30 years.

A statement filed by the FBI with the complaint alleges that a confidential source told a detective that Medina had engaged in sex with the minor between 2004 and this year. The source said Medina and the girl traveled separately to California to avoid suspicion about why a minor and an obviously older man were together. In addition, Medina checked into hotels alone while the girl waited around the corner so no one would see them together, the statement of facts alleges. It says that hotel and airline records corroborate the source's story.

At least two of the encounters, one in Los Angeles and the other in Medina's condominium in the American Towers, were recorded by Medina with a handheld video camera, according to the source.

The court statement says a second source reported opening up files while using Medina's home computer and saw a depiction of what appeared to be a minor female performing a sex act on the actor-director.

A search of the condominium conducted Thursday turned up film cartridges and prescription drug containers, the statement says. The document also alleges that after being placed in custody, Medina asked if his car keys were being seized and when told no, replied, "Good," because when he made bail, he was going to "jump." Filmmaker Arrested for Sex Crimes Against a Minor

A local filmmaker is behind bars for sex crimes involving a female minor. Gilbert Medina was arrested a few days ago.

From the *big screen* to the *big house* Gilbert Medina could see up to 30 years in prison. We found pictures of the 37-year old filmmaker on the internet. He's charged with transporting a minor from Utah to California with intent to engage in sexual activity.

The FBI reports they had sex on numerous occasions starting more than a year ago, and some of those occasions were recorded with a hand held video camera. Agents say Medina is well known, creating films such as "Jack's Law", but say his popularity won't influence the investigation.

Agent Scott Wall, FBI: "And that can add some elements of sensitivity to the investigation, but for the most part we handle it in a pretty straight forward upright manner and follow the same procedure we would with anybody else."

Medina was living in the American Towers in downtown Salt Lake City. He's being held without bail in the custody of the United States Marshals.

On Tuesday Medina will have a detention hearing early in the afternoon.

RELEASED. He still has a "fed number" so NO, the charges weren't dropped otherwise he'd have the opportunity to expunge his record thus removing his name from the Fed Registry.

He copped to a plea and is most likely up to his old antics again - persistence is the only point of recourse one has in clamping down on child molesters!
