On 3-13-09 this person came into my home because I called him and told him my furnace was blowing cold air. I was told I needed a new circuit board. Not knowing any differently I agreed. For a new circuit board, cleaning, service call and labor the total came to $601.57. Would not accept any other form of payment except cash or check made out to the individual, not the company name.

Very early the next morning 3-14-09) the furnace was again blowing cold air. I called bank to stop payment on check but it had already been cashed the same day it as written.

So on 3-14-09 the same person returned to check out the situation. This time he said I needed another part. Never quoted a price just said it was inexpensive. He would order it and return on Monday 3-16-09. Leaving me in a no heat situation. I agreed because it was not all that cold. Was told he would be here between 1:30-3:30. Was not real happy with this because I work third shift but I agreed.

Come Monday, never heard from him. Called office and was told it would be Tuesday between 1:30-3:30. Come Tuesday he never called or showed. Called on Wednesday and was told he would be here by 4:00. Finally showed at 6:00. Came in, said he didn't have much time because he had a 7:oo appointment, also that he did not have the part because he ordered the wrong one but would get me heat.

After a few moments in the basement he said there would be heat, and there was. Said he would be back with the right part next week. At this time I told him since he had been here my carbon monoxide detector had gone off a few times.

He said when he comes back he would check things out further. Maybe I needed a new furnace. Only costs about $2000. Before going that far could credit money back. After left furnace was kicking in every ten minutes or so, running for about two and shutting down. This went on for about four hours before I turned it off knowing it was not good for the furnace or my gas bill.

Now totally fed up I called the office the next morning and told the woman who answered that I was done dealing with this company, that I wanted my money back and I would not allow this person back into my home. I was going to call a different company. She told me she would call me back about the refund but never did. My attempts were avoided. Always saying I will call you back.

Called in new company. What they found really upset me. First of all the circuit board I paid for was a recall. I contacted Johnson controls to verify this and found it to be true. Also one part was missing, probably the one he supposedly ordered. Also two others were by passed. All safety devices.

Since I am an elderly single female, my male neighbor who has a degree in heating and AC called this person to tell him what the other company found. He got all cocky and said he had the right board there but I would not allow him to put it in. Which is crazy. I had already paid for that part.

Unfortunately I checked the BBB. Although they are not members what they have heard they have rated as F. All cases being closed due to no response from the company. They mentioned concern about being bonded, registered, certified etc.

I am left believing that this is just a fly by night service. Which is ok, except I worry about the safety of the homes entered. One of the reasons the circuit board I received was recalled had something to do with carbon monoxide. I was told that they received approximately 90% of them back.

I also checked the CAAP report and found a number or judgements etc. It is to late for me to do anything about this company that just took me for $601.57 and gave me nothing in return, but maybe someone else can be saved. It is obvious it is not a reliable source of service.

The second company that came in replaced the recalled part, plus put in the missing part and fixed the by passed wire, plus told me everything else was ok, and that I did not need a furnace at this time for less than the original $601.57 I paid the orginal thief.
