We just had The Ring Andersen sail boat stolen from us 3 days before we sold her.
After my husband (Richard) got back from Iraq in 2004,working for Halliburton as a truck driver. He became sick with an obstructive lung disease contracted from the Iraq war zone ,which could not be cured . We decided to follow his wish; buying a sail boat and taking our 3 children 15, 12 and 2 to Thailand where my family live.
In January,2008; we found the Ring Andersen and fell in love with her. Our thought was that this vessel was very well built and would take us to any place in the world. Thailand was our goal.
In the summer of 2008; we spent time on board and got to know many nice yachtsmen. Richard's wish was becoming realistic, but then things got turned around by the troubled economy.
We had a small trucking business and we lost the major customer contract, therefore we can no longer keep the Ring Anderson. We decided to sell her. We moved her to Deltaville, VA in the care of Chesapeake Marine Railway (CMR). They put 3 large bilge bumps on the Ring Andersen to replaced the existing ones on 8-21-2008, which the bill cost almost $7,000.00. (Quoted $3,000.000)
We tried to sell her ourselves, but on one incident the buyer talked to CMR and told us that CMR had put the boat down saying how bad she was, so the sale was off because of that. Then we decided to list her with a boat broker. In less than a month we got a signed contract to sell the Ring Andersen.
Three days before we would close on the Ring(10-18-2008), she mysteriously sank at the dock of CMR ,and was under 20 feet of water. We did not have any insurance on the boat. We got a bill from CMR for raising the boat for $98,781.56 to be exact. We lost every thing, our life savings, our dreams and my husband last wish sank with her. CMR is trying to steal the boat from us and does not have any mercy what soever on us. Some thing very fishy is going on here as you all can see. It is very unfair and painful. Our children asked us “How can they do that?”
We need your help dealing with this rip-off boat yard: anything, prayers, legal advise, expertise, and donation.
Thank you,

Pinporn
