Ebay / PayPAl refused to cancel my PayPal account internet

fter following their instructions and h getting the runaround from PayPalk some more I finally got someone et EBay to say that they would look into it.
(they never did).

PayPal found out that the seller and I had no problems and there was no longer a reason to investigate anything. You know why??? PayPAl found out that it was over thirty days since the seller reported that had completed the transcaction with me and that meant that there was no existing reason to be investigating this matter - In other words PaPal was exercising their right to drop the matter and not even look into the fact thet the only REAL PROBLEM is that one of their people illegally ordered an item on my credit card (which makes the problen an INTERNAL ONE at PayPal, but they now can pass it off because of the "thrty day" cut off rule.

My Complaint is - because PayPal is obviously always able to cover up such activities - I have asked that they close my account with them and they refuse to close it unless I provide them with my new Credit card account number. There is no way that I will give my new card information to them so that they could pull this scam again and I believe that they must close my account at my request.

How can I get them to just close the account?

Call the attorney general in your State:

You may be told to contact another agency first. So contact your local consumer protection agency in your municipality. Record your phone conversations with them. If unfeasible, make copies of the letters you mail to them and save the correspondence they send to you. They will have a phone and fax number on there.

Let us know how this comes out. I won't do any monetary transactions over the web. However, I want to do seminars and was considering PayPal because they advertised that you don't need a credit card. Kind of causes you to wonder... Best to you and hope you don't have to go to the expense of an attorney.
