H & R Block When they mess up, prepare to have major life changes in finances Winston Salem North Carolina

H & R Block did my girlfriends taxes and when the system self populated, it put a dependent on her form, that she was not aware of, and had no way of knowing this dependents social security number. The only explanation is that the dependent was listed at the same address as our address.

My girlfriend has lost her taxes for the last three years, and is being garnished at $100.00 per week, and all because of an error on H & R Blocks account.

The office manager told us that they had made an error, and he could have her garnishment stopped in 10 days. This soon grew to 3 weeks, and when we had heard enough of his "different stories" we went to his manager, and now it has become a 6 month to a year deal.

I feel that H & R Block should pay the penalties to have her garnishment stopped, and then we well wait for the back money. I am disabled, and am waiting for my disability to come through. We live from shut off to shut off notice, and this is all because of lies told to us by H & R Block.

I have had this office manager adamantly tell me he did not do something, several times, and I have proved it to him, in his own handwriting. He can't keep his story straight, and when he calls the IRS, he just makes things worse.

We are now working with someone else above him, and are really getting nowhere.

The IRS is just as bad, as the dependent that was claimed was a blood niece, and all they wanted was for us to prove that she lived here. We have faxed that to so many places and have all of these agents names and numbers and it really just doesn't matter. They have never received anything. I even have receipts from the post office that prove they received them.

We finally went down to the IRS office and the clerks down there told us to fax the information to a certain place, but we had to supply her with the number. I don't think that she could have held a job at a burger joint. This is the quality of service we get for paying taxes.

We wonder why people are getting violent, this is the reason. It is not a solution, but I understand it better now.
