Support Kids is a scam. I had not idea when I signed up with them that I could NEVER close my case. I am investigating this because I just can't believe that a company can force you to be a client. It's ridiculous. Plus they lied and said they entered a court order for him to pay, but I already had a court order. They also said they only take 34% of your back pay. That's not true. They take 34% of your whole child support check. For those single parents not receiving child support. Do whatever you have to, to get your child support office to collect. DO NOT use Support Kids. Your kids will never get all of their money if you use them.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Power of Attorney Revocation

AUTHOR: Ruby - Dallas (U.S.A.)

First you should speak to your local child support office and complete a form removing them from your case. (This is only for a limited time, because they will definitely try and pop back on there from what I hear.) Then you need to complete a Power of Attorney Revocation form (get it notarized and send that form, along with a letter of explanation to the Child Support Disbursement Unit, Child Support office handling your case, and the Attorney General of Texas. Also, make sure you file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, Office of Attorney General, and continue to report their behavior on every website that you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a terrible thing for someone to take advantage of people, especially single mothers, who only sign up with these "fictitious attorneys offices" because they are desperate for help!!!"

I hope this helps you, Be Blessed.

#2 Consumer Comment

Read your contract

AUTHOR: Dani - Clive (U.S.A.)

I was with supportkids.com for exactly one year. I made sure I went by the rules of the contract when I terminated my service with them. That contract states that if they don't collect anything for any 12 month period, you can cancel by sending them notice in writing. I called them everyday until they got it. The key is to stay on top of it. I can not stress enough READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN IT. They are a very crappy company and don't keep their promises, but they do have all their t's crossed and i's dotted.

Your contract only give you the option to cancel IF AND ONLY IF they do not collect. As soon as they collect you are stuck until they can no longer collect. Whether that be becuase of the non custodial parent or because your shild turns 18. Your contract states that they will take their enrollment fee of $475 out of the first few payments and then they take 34% out of every check thereafter. It also states, plan and clear, that if you get a payment directly from the other parent that you have to give them 34% of that too if they find out about it. They find out by calling the other parent demanding payment and the other parent states they already paid it to you. They are within their legal contractual rights with you to do what they're doing becuase you signed the contract telling them they could.
