GlobalTelLink More of the same rip-offs. Nationwide

I've read all the reports by others about GlobalTel LInk and am sorry to report that nothing has changed...they are still ripping people off, and not answering phone calls etc. I received a series of robocalls over the past week that left a broken message saying an inmate was trying unsucessfully to call me, and I needed to call an 877 # provided. Since I had been receiving calls from my SO, who is in PA state prison, for over a month without any problem, I ignored the weird calls. Charges for these collect calls were billed to me through ATT and everything seemed fine, except they cost a bundle and you have no alternatives, of course. BUT, when I didn't receive any more calls my SO, I figured something was up. So I called the # on the message and it was GlobalTellink, the first time I'd ever heard of them. All I could get was a recodring saying no one was available and to call back...yadda, yadda, yadda. Seems that is the standard operating practice at GlobalTelLink, from all the other comments on this website, and others I've found online. So, I set up an account online, and I can only hope it works, but I'm not betting on it. Odd too, how there is NO ADDRESS anywhere on the GlobalTel Link website. THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE FOUND.

It also seems there are a bunch of companies who specialize in providing tel services to "Correctional Facilities", and they have a monopoly on any calls from those facilities. The cost is outrageous, and because they cut you off after 15 minutes tops, they make more $$$ from the exhorbitant "connection fees" they charge with each call. You want to talk more..pay another "connection fee"!! And I would bet my bottom dollar that the prisons and jails get share (kickback) on all the money these companies make too.
