NCC Business Services, Inc. Collection Agency Crap Jacksonville Florida

This collection agency from Jacksonville, FL called me to work a payment arrangement, then told me that if I couldn't make my payment to give them a call and they would help me out.

I setup a post-dated check 1 month prior to the payment being taken out, which the FTC says they can only take it 5 days prior, but whatever. They took it anyway. However, I got layed off from my job, and am unable to pay what I owe. I called them again, 10 days prior...still outside of that 5 day limit, to cancel payment because I couldn't afford to make it on the due date.

They're still going to run it through, and are now telling me they will prosecute me for writing a hot check if it doesn't process. I froze my accounts to stop payment, just in case they use a different amount, and filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau as well as the Federal Trade Commission. I just wanted to see if anyone had some insight into how I can handle this. I don't even owe as much as they claim I owe anyway. I was just settling to get them off of my a**.
