American Credit Educators ripoff Denver Colorado

December of 2003 my husband and I decided to purchase a home. We pulled our credit reports, and noticed ACE (American Credit Educators LLC) reporting a balance of $300.00, and 47 times/90 days late. I didn't recognize this as being my account, so I called them. They in return notified me that I had signed up for this credit card, and I owed a balance of $300 for a credit repair kit in 1998. I was told that I DID order the material.

In eagerness to purcahse our home, I sent in a an agreed $90 payment to settle the account, and per the represntative, remove it off of my credit. Little did I know that this was a fraudulent common practice of this company. After research through hundreds of pages of documentation pertaining to this company, I discovered that this is a fraudualent organization, and has been reported repeatedly to the BBB since 2001. Although my report reflects a 0 balance, it is still reflecting deragatory credit on my credit report, after I was repeadtedly promised that it would be removed.

As of today, August 22, 2004, and closer to closing on our home, I noticed that this derogatory information is still on my credit report. I called ACE, and they informed me that I needed to pay an additional $210.95 to have this removed off of my report. After a confirmation from the credit bureaus, I discovered that they did not have the authorization to remove it off of my credit report.

Please help with this matter, as to hundreds of individulas have been affected by these practices, and it has already been documented on the BBB website at http://www.data.bbb.org/denver2.asp, and listed as an alias for SC Advertising.

Please assist us in aggresively pursuing litigation against this company who feels that they have a legal "loophole" to embarrass the BBB, and exploit un-suspecting individuals. "We just want to buy a home"
