Apollo Van Lines, Inc. Held Belongings for Ransom of Almost Double Binding Estimate Quote. Broke Items Even Before Leaving NY for NC Glendale New York

Apollo Van Lines gave me a binding estimate of $2,402.00 to move from NY to NC. Apollo movers broke my Italian marble table. After loading my belongings, I was told my charges would now be $4,250.00, but, I could take $400.00 off for the price of the broken table.

I was promised delivery on March 20, 2008 in NC. Late afternoon on March 20th, the delivery driver stated I would need to hired another company to make delivery because he would not. Later, he decided to make delivery two days later, once assured I had the remaining balance in certified check.

Upon delivery two days late, the driver refused to unload the truck unless I signed papers stating good were received in good condition. All my objections were ignored and he told the assistant to lock up the truck and was handing me my check back until I agreed to sign just in order to retrieve my belongings.

As my items were unloaded, glass was heard broken inside packages, items I witnessed wrapped, taped and boxed were now unwrapped, untaped, and unboxed. Items were stolen, destroyed purposely and damaged beyond repair.

The delivery people refused to reassemble anything dismantled in NY by the movers, including my two-door, side-by-side refrigerator.
