Apollo Van Lines ripoff w/moving me from NY to Florida told me one price and told me another when they delivered by articles Glendale New York

to whom it may concern:

On 10/31/03I receive a job offer from Florida I was living in NY at the time. At the last minute I desided to Have a moving Co. pack and move all my stuff they quoted me $559 (11/14/03) over the phone and once they came they were their for exactly three hours they charged me for 71/2 hours also they told me I had around 500 cubic ft of stuff and that it is actually $1,016 that I owe because it is alot more than what I told them over the phone.

Anyway when they delivery the stuff florida (12/28/03) they quoted me $1,500 500x30 cubic ft. anyway the manager minus two hrs off my bill from when they packed my stuff because they over calculated an extra 3hrs. then the day before they were to deliver the furniture (11/26/03) they told me to have $1,330 in cash and that was all that was said. When he came to the complex he told me that I had to give him personally an extra $300 I told him why wasn't I given this information ahead of time he told me he is a sub-contract and he will not delivery my stuff unless I give him the cash first so I had to pay him not knowing what was in the truck and I also gave him the $300 he didn't unpack any of the items or assemble my bed.

like they agreed I had to do everything my self and I never received back my vacuum and my computer desk was broke and also they through the rubbing alcohol and cleaning products and the food together so they didn't close properly and they spilled over into the food. The guys even stole some stuff from me not alot, but enough. needless to say I want this company exposed for who they really are because they are posted on the internet for top moving company to use. Why are they still registered with BBB if they aren't a good company.

I have tried to contact the owner several times no response I sent a formal complaint certified mail on 1/12/04 which the owner signed receipt, but no response evertime I call them they tell me someone will call me back the first person I spoke with told me it takes 2 weeks the next time I called they told me 30 days and I called again to day (2/18/04) the same guy told me 45 days from date of complaint. In all I have paid this company $2,646 to move a bedroom set, TV, computer and desk and miscellus items. that don't even add up to $3,000.
