Three years ago I invested $4400 in what I thought would be a new career and new direction. Certainly my qualifications and background allowed me much flexibility. I went to Haldane in New York where I was living at the time.
At the time I signed the contract with Haldane, I was told that if I did not have a job within 3 years I got my money back. I was also promised that I would be vigously marketed to headhunters in areas of interest to me. At the time, NY was still my primary interest though a few other locations were being discussed. With each location, I was told 'no problem'.
Over the next 18 months, I not only lost the job I had, but was unemployed for nearly a year. The website I was directed to offered 5 total 'hits' over that period, only one of which I remotely qualified for.
I lost my condo in New York, moved to the midwest, my file was transferred to the local office in St. Louis. The recruitre I was offered was only part time, gave me two names of clients of hers I could call. Neither acknowledged even knowing her and were not receptive to helping me. After nearly 18 months in the St. Louis metro area, I am still unemployed, have cashed in all retirement accounts, extended all credit cards to their limits just trying to get by. I have had to resort to looking in papers for part time and menial jobs that won't even cover my monthly housing expenses.
I have been in touch with Haldane headquarters in Princeton and they tell me no such refund policy has ever been in place, have been as rude as possible and show no regrets or remorse for the disrespectful, disreputable manner in which I have been treated.
As mine does not seem to be the only story of this nature, why can't these people and their business practices be reported, investigated, and a class action suit brought against them. They are a disgrace and need to be brought to justice, need to be forced to refund monies owed to me and others like me all over the US and Canada.
