CIC Credit Monitor ripoff ORANGE California

I recently had a charge for $79.95 on my debit card from a CIC Credit Monitor. I went to google and did a search they are ripping tons of people off. I called my bank and she said I was like the 3rd call complaining about this particular company today! So I called the company and spoke to a rep. she told me that they could refund me $78.84 because the account was prorated from Jan. on and if you did not cancel within 30 days of signing up they don't refund the full amount. We went round and round and I finally asked to talked to a manager and of course all of them were busy so I decided to eat the dollar and just take it. I still don't know how they got my information but they refused to answer any questions. They got my parents too.
