I received a postcard from E.C.M.S. (East Coast Magazine Sales) with the number 1 (800) 270-6902 and the phrases: "We have been looking for you! It's real important that you call toll free 1 (800) 270-6902 Thanks, Sam Rogers".

I thought it might be an emergency that someone would try to be reaching me for what they made to appear a very long time, so I called the number. I was routed through many different people (I assume this was to catch me off guard) until I was told that I could receive cheap magazines.

Normally I hang up on telemarketers, but this one seemed to be legitimate, so I listened. Unfortunately, I broke the rule of "never give out your credit card number" because I figured they couldn't use it without other identifying information.

They said they needed the number to verify that I would be eligible for a supposed sweepstakes they were in charge of. BIG MISTAKE.

On my next credit card statement, I noticed three charges in the following order: DATE: 5/13/02--$31.10 from MOS Magazine, DATE: 6/13/02--$31.10 from MOS Magazine and DATE 6/17/02--$96.00 (??!) from MWI Connections.

I immediately reported this as fraud to my credit card company and they told me that they "see this name QUITE OFTEN" on fraud reports for their company.

Today, I received a letter in the mail stating that my account balance was $248.80 and that I owed $31.10 immediately and should send in TWO PAYMENTS at once. They also made an underhanded remark in the letter, insinuating that they would report me to a credit agency if I didn't pay them.

This is a completely bogus company! Please read the following A.K.A.s and phone numbers and addresses (all of which the same parent company uses)and inform as many people as possible!:
