On or about Sep 07 there was a negative entry placed on my Transunion credit report from First Horizon Home Loans. I have never owned a home or had credit with them. I immediately disputed their information on the report as well as called them. It is now Jan 08 and their information is still on my credit report. Contact was made with their so called Fraud Dept and all information that they asked for or required was faxed. I have never seen anything like this before. They stated that I would receive a call back but it never happens. Very unprofessional! What is my recourse?

Demand removal of the bad entry

AUTHOR: Maurizio - Lyndeborough (U.S.A.)

You do have a recourse. All you have to do is dispute the entry, in writing, to Transunion and demand that they remove the entry in question (sample dispute letters can be found on the internet). Transunion will then demand proof from First Horizon of their entry on your credit report. If First Horizon cannot provide proof, or fail to respond within 30 days, Transunion will be required by law to remove that entry.

Regards,

Maurizio
