Got a letter claiming I'd won $120,000. A check was enclosed for $1998.00 to "cover my taxes". The letter was from the Netherlands, the check from the University of Wisconsin, and the stamp on the envelope was Canadian.

Bottom line, I have been informed that if I cash this check it will bounce because it's a fake check; for one thing, the Wisconsin area code for the UW isn't even 306, for another, when you call the # on the ck, it's a cell. The list goes on. Don't get hooked and REPORT THIS TO LOCAL AUTHORITIES!
