My wife and I attended a "teaser" seminar in February. The seminar was in Ontario, California. The seminar title was "Grow Rich Stay Rich" and was sponsored by Income Strategies Institute of West Jordan, UT. At the end of the seminar they pitched a 3 day seminar for $20 per person. My wife and I allowed them to charge our ATM card the $40.00 total. I attended the seminar in Baldwin Park, CA (Marriot) for 2 days, at which time I realized the program was merely a 3 days sales pitch to sell $33,000 worth of webinars. I did not attend the last day figuring it was not for us. Much to my surprize a company, HB Products (www.hbproduct.com)charged my ATM for $59.95. I do remember the discussion of Grow Rich Stay Rich web hosting for a fee of $25 per month, and $59.95 if the person was opting for the full service site. I did not request either. I have since called my bank and had them reverse the charges. I will be getting an afidavit in the next few days to complete the process. I had to cancel my ATM card to insure they don't continue to charge it. I have sent them an email via their site and also a voice mail requesting an explanation of their charges and notification that a claim has been filed with my bank. It is not my intention to disparage the company's educational value. Some people may find it valuable and worth the money. But to charge a card without notification and for an amount I know I would have not agreed to is just unscrupulous.

More to the Story

AUTHOR: Charles D - The Woodlands (U.S.A.)

The three-day seminar, supposedly a $199.99 "value", for which we were charged $20.00, appears to have been open to anyone who showed up, whether they paid the $20.00 or not. When I went to the three day event, all you had to do to gain admission was to fill out a slip of paper with your contact information. No one was asked for their receipt for the $20.00 they were supposed to pay.
