Over a year ago I signed up for 6 months of coaching through the Miracles Coaching Program (a product of NorthStar Ventures).  After only a few sessions with my "coach," who I was told was extremely well qualified, I learned that she was no longer with the company.  I wasn't surprised as she had been inattentive and unprofessional at best.  I was assigned another coach, who was excellent, and we worked together for over a year.  Towards the end of this time, I received notice from someone in the Financial Department that an "oversight" had been made in my billing, and I was given a "revised billing schedule" for the remaining sessions.

However, one morning when I called for a regular session with my coach, she expressed surprise that I was calling, and she informed me that she was no longer with the company because she (and all of the other coaches) had not been paid in some time.  I was later notified by NorthStar Ventures that I would be assigned yet ANOTHER coach, who would finish the remaining coaching sessions I had paid for.  My payments and my coaching sessions ended in September, and I decided not to sign up for any further sessions.

Imagine my surprise when, in early November of this year, I found a $500 charge posted to my credit card from NorthStar Ventures.  I immediately attempted to contact the company, but none of the company's contact information was valid any more, with the exception of email.  I sent an email requesting an immediate reversal of the $500 charge, and I was informed by someone in the Financial Department that the charge had been reversed.

To date, the charge is still sitting on my credit card, collecting interest.  The one contact person I had been able to reach is also no longer working for NorthStar Ventures, and I am left wondering how many other former clients have found a "surprise" waiting for them on their credit card statement.

Jeff Chavez and Northstar Ventures Rebuttal To Complaint

AUTHOR: Northstar71 - Austin (United States of America)

Ms. Clarke had a signed payment plan agreement with Northstar Ventures for an ongoing coaching program. The company has recently gone through a complete company downsizing due to the current economic climate. As a result of the downsizing, our services have suffered and we have made every effort to stay on top of our obligations to our clients. In this case, our records were not properly updated and the final payment for this client that was made in September 2009 was not recorded. In November 2009 the payment that we believed was still due to the company was processed. It then came to our attention that this was an error. The client contacted the company on Nov. 11th and got a reply that we were addressing it immediately on Nov. 12th. While trying to review our agreements and payment received from this client and also remedy a problem with our merchant account processor, I then communicated with the client personally on Nov. 17th to let her know we were immediately addressing the situation and that she would definitely recieve a refund as quickly as we could sort things out. On Nov. 18th she filed her complaint on this site.

I would humbly submit that we believe this situation is a legitimate error, and no way a "rip off", and that we responded immediately to the client. We understand her frustration and concern and will remedy this immediately. We do wish she had chosen to speak with us first before filing this report that will now reside in organic search indefinitely. Jeff Chavez and Northstar Ventures remain dedicated to providing honest service and support to those clients who have been inconvenienced by the business challenges that we have faced in 2009.
