I am one of the people that have been scammed by this group of people. I answered the ad in Craigslist and was given the same story of how this group was affiliated with the city and went to see an alleged Low-rent apartment in Harlem. I put money up that has yet to be returned to me.
I have filed a complaint with the attorney general's office and was told that if others in the same situation would file as well this case could really get attention and a resolution. Here's what you need to do:
You can go to (((Redacted))) and file a report. This is the attorney general's office and they have a department for Consumer Frauds & Protection.
The Harlem office is at this address:

Bureau of Consumer Frauds & Protection
163 West 125th Street

Call them and tell them you want to file a complaint. You can go in to do it or even mail it in. This is a free service it will not cost you anything. This is a free service to help victims of frauds like this. This is run by our city and is your right.
Please Post a response if you have filed a complaint already or if you have any information on these people that can help.
