Mom received a letter from Lasalle Funding and Settlement Corporation - notifying her she had won 55,850,000 dollars in a Sweepstakes. Enclosed was a US Bank check for 2,600.00 and instructions to call Sandra Johnston at 647-892-7952 for details on how to deposit the money, plus there would be a 6% finders fee for the US Agent.

In bold letters was a statment to keep this letter confidential. There was a threat at the end of the very lengthy letter that Failure to adhere to the check cashing instructions will result in declaring winnings as unclaimed and that she would be liable for the entire amount listed on the check.

The letter was signed by Mr John Edmonton, Prize Director. The address on the envelope was hand written and the time limit to respond was before September 26, letter was postmarked 11/24. No return address on the envelope. I smell a RAT - I tried to look them up in the Internet - not listed anywhere!

My mother is a senior citizen! Good thing She didnt open this one! She might have fallen for it !
