I ordered a digital camera online from their website late last night. Seemed great, especially after reviews I found on a review site. So many praises by others. So I felt safe and placed the order. After placing the order, I was sent a message "In order to prevent credit card fraud, please call Xxxxx from our order confirmation department at 800-957-6628 ext: 207 to confirm your order.

I did this, and provided my order number. I was then quickly taken into a sales pitch. "This camera does not come with a memory card, would you like to buy one today?" I replied, "No thanks, I already have one." Then I was told, "the camera only comes with a 20-minute battery, would you like to purchase our extended life battery for $119?". Again I said "No thanks". Then I was offered it for a lower price, maybe $89. Again I said "No thanks". Then I got told, "Final offer, $269 for the camera, the battery and a camera bag". I hesitated, and was told "Yes or No answer...". I said, "sorry, no thanks." Then I was told, "did you know the camera was refurbished?" I said, "no, the website did not indicate anything of that nature." Then I was asked again, "so, one more time do you want to take the deal?" Again I said "no thanks." One more time, "do you know the camera is refurbished?" I then said, "Yes, you just told me." Again, "Yes or no question, do you want to take the offer for the camera, the battery and the bag?" I said, "No thanks, it's not what I budgeted for." Then abruptly... "Your order is canceled. Bye." and he hung up.

I check my email, no email of a cancellation. After about 2 minutes I called their customer support. I said, "I'd like to check the status on an order." Response, "Your order number please." I gave them the order number and was told, "Your order is cancelled, we don't have that camera in stock." I said, in disbelief, "No more in stock?!" I was then told, "No, we are all sold out." I was continuing to ask a question since 2 minute before I was pushed to be sold a battery and accessories with my purchase. I realized before I could get my question out that they had already hung up.

This is a DEFINITE avoid warning. I don't know how they got the good reviews on the site I found, but they are quite questionable. First trying to sell me extras then all of a sudden the product is sold out?!?!

The bad side was having to sign up on their site for an account, including the fact they have my payment information. There is no way to remove the credit card, and you cannot change some of your information. I did change my address, credit card number and some others to fake information so that it would hopefully be gone. More than likely I will request a new credit card from my card services due to this event, which is an annoyance to say the least.

TheDigitalExpo.com Reviews

AUTHOR: Kevin - Hewitt (U.S.A.)

The site I had been on that gave reviews was Everyprice.com. Lots of great reviews for TheDigitalExpo.com, but that makes no sense whatsoever. They influenced my decision to buy, but the site can't be right. I've already found other complaints now about TheDigitalExpo.com.

Avoid them... save your sanity.
