Veronica, hopefully this information I'm providing you will assist you. There are a several things that you can do. First, you need to file a complaint with a few agencies. File a complaint with the office of the Attorney General about the company's practices; file a complaint with the better business bureau (all though they usually do nothing its good to have it on record). Filing complaints will help get the ball rolling and bring this company illegal procedures to light.
I've also read other complaints where this company contacted people listed as references, and revealed information in regards to your account. This is a big violation of consumer protection laws, file a complaint with the SEC at SEC.gov; and consult with a lawyer who deals in consumer protection because there have been cases where people sued and were awarded damages.

The state of Texas has a reinstate policy, where it allows the consumer to reinstate the contract if it's the first repossession on the contract, or it's there hasn't been repossession on the contract with in the last 18 months.
