Re:  Fraud and Misrepresentation of Services by Customer Service Rep, Ares Caceres of BMW

I visited BMW of Bakersfield on March 11,2011 shortly before 8:a.m. for possible car repairs,  reconnection of rear view mirror, rear passenger door lock malfulction, and a brake light sensor reading.  These are the only repairs that I was requesting to be checked for repair.

I was told by Customer Service Re, Ares Caceres of BMW that the initial estimate was approximately $182.00 to complete the work.  Mr. Caceres also stated that BMW would not do any work on my vehicle without my consent and that BMW also performed a customary worldwide inspection that cost nothing to do.

I left BMW shortly thereafter and was told I would receive a phone call soon.  I waited all day and no phone call came from anyone.  I finally had to come back at the end of the day to search out Mr. Caceres who took me to the back office showing me an estimate for more than $5000.00 dollars which listed items for repair which I never asked to repair and which I was already aware of.

I told Mr. Caceres that the final estimate was quite a bit higher, outrageous and that I would not be having the work performed by BMW.  I was shocked later when I went to see the cashier and found that the initial estimate for work to be performed, but not performed would cost $182.oo dollars even though no work was done.  I also did not understand why I would pay for an estimate that I was told was customary, free and no charge.

I later was contacted by Mr. Jim Leyendecker, Service Manager and set appointments to meet with him.  To date he has not returned my numerous phone calls or even acknowledged the $182.00 dollar cost for an estimate that was suspose to be free which I never asked to be performed.

This BMW of Bakersfield has defrauded others, if you view their latest 24-month status report.
I feel that I was defrauded and taken advantage of because, I did not have the work performed by BMW of Bakersfield.  Sincerely, Sam of Bakersfield and Los Angeles respectively. (323)291-6035hm.
