Amazon called my house phone wanting me to pay them $58 on late fee charges on a card I never heard of nor signed up for they say i opened an account a month ago in dec. 2011 but this is not true. they say i owe them over $500 and there is a late payment charge i owe of $58 and wanted me to pay them by phone or they would send my info to the credit companies.  complete scam. first off if i had opened an account a month ago the payments would be per month...so a late fee at this point would not be inacted on secondly this is a security flaw that amazon themself has caused by selling info to companies through their website. Also i never opened an account with amazon card services although i do have a sellers account which i will now delete.  Do not trust amazon ever again they sold out to crime!!!!!!! futureshares@yahoo.com

Wow..calm down there Kemo Sabe.

Perhaps you should take a step back to see what your claim actually sounds like.  You are basically saying that Amazon has nothing better to do than to just randomly open up accounts(or sell your name to another company that will), run up a "fake" balance and then call you for payment.   Are you really that special that they would take this time to pick on you...sorry but NO.

I guess it never occurred to you that it could be something else.   The worst of this is of course Identity Theft.   Where if it is this case you probably have more to worry about than a phone call.

Are you even 100% sure that it came from Amazon or someone who got your information from Amazon?  Or did you just take them for their word?  If that is the case I am sure you would fully believe that Bill Gates will personally send you a letter congratulating you on you winning the Internet lottery.

Oh and FYI on the late payment.  It IS possible to currently be late if an account was opened up in December, especially if it was early December.
