    ...the right way!
    Corporate Advocacy Program
I just recently received a letter advising me that I have been approved for a $5000 platinum card, and was curious because I never applied for such a card. I read the information provided at the back of the request but was not clear on the terms of the agreement. I have not sent in the processing fee and am glad that I waited because reading all the letters on this site made me realize that this is just another scam... Thanks for all your help...

Great Website

AUTHOR: Edward J. - Jamestown ()

I just wanted to say "thank you" for such a web site. I got a "approval certificate" and thought to myself "this is to good to be true". So I did a web search and your site came up and turned out be the best one concerning fraud. Again thank you for saving me the trouble others, sad to say went through or are going through as a result of companies that dont do fair business.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Read it and File it

AUTHOR: r - western ()

I have received the same offer from Capital Choice Consumer Credit twice in the past few months. I am not defending this company at all, however, I am suggesting how to avoid becoming a victim of such unscrupulous companies.

First, READ the WHOLE offer. You do not even need to strain your eyes over the small print on the back of the notice to know that this is not something you want. First of all, anytime a company (other than reputable companies such American Express, etc...) requires a "membership fee", a redflag should be raised. Secondly, the fourth paragraph of the letter states "YOU MAY USE YOUR PLATINUM CARD IMMEDIATELY UPON RECEIPT EXCLUSIVELY FOR ALL PURCHASES FROM CREDIT PROVIDER." This sentence tells you that this is not a real credit card, rather it is for the company's (CREDIT PROVIDER) own (probably price-inflated) products.

Once you have carefully read the letter, you should identify these two very clear redflags. The next step is to File the letter in the nearest trash can and you will not be a victim of the deceit. Of course, some may need more evidence before tossing it, and that is fine, get online and check the company out at www.bbb.org or similar sites such as this one. THEN, once your suspicions have been verified, throw the letter away....report the company if you want ... but the simplest way not be a victim of such trash companies is to Read the letter and File it in the trash.

Saved by a hair

Thank you so much for publishing this website. I received a letter from CCCC about 2 weeks ago stating that I was approved for a $5,000 credit limit. At the time I didn't have the extra money to send for the processing fee. So I was going to send it off tomorrow, but I'm sooo glad that I looked on the internet first and found this site. Again THANK YOU for saving me a world of trouble.
