Emerge Mastercard rip-off! These people won't credit your payments! Colombus Georgia

I had a Getsmart Visa for about a year, when without previous notification Providian sold the account to Emerge. Even with higher interest rates I managed to pay off my entire balance and it remained like this for quite a while. Last May I had to make some emergency purchases and charged my acccount again. But this time they had a plan to mess me up.

I started making weekly payments to pay off my balance as soon as possible, but they never reported these payments and I was surprised with an overlimit and past due account notice! I called the phone number they provided in the letter and the automated system reported the account as currently NOT PAST DUE.

The problem is that my account balance is supposed to be paid off with all the payments I made. They only reported 1 payment (out of 6 I actually made) of 50.00 (the last one was really 100.00) and in a different date (there are no bank transactions for Emerge in my checking accout on THAT date)I make my payments through Yahoo Bill Pay and they have records of all my payments and dates, and my bank statement shows the transactions as well, but they won't register my REAL payments.

Emerge won't let me pay off my balance so soon because they want the balance to be as high as possible in order to keep sucking up my blood for a long, long time with their extremely high interest rates.
