This year, 2007, I had hoped to try to pay FCNB/First Consumers National Bank but was told they don't exist anymore. On the internet, I had heard that they dissolved as a bank due to high levels of risk and non compliance by securities and exchange commission. I had received phone calls last year to make arrangements with a collection agency but I don't think even if I did that they could clear credit. FCNB is not around to clear it. Also I don't know who I paid last year with arrangements.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Dispute with the credit reporting agencies.

AUTHOR: Nikki - Coconut Creek (U.S.A.)

If FCNB is listed on your credit reports, I would dispute the debt immediately with the credit reporting agencies. If they are out of business, there won't be anyone around to verify the debt and hopefully it will be deleted from your credit report. If the debt is listed from a collection agency rather than FCNB itself, it may be harder, but I would try anyway.
