HSBC Bank Nevada, NA Received unsolicited privacy notice from them filled with fraudulent promises Wood Ripoff Dale Illinois

Just received a two page letter from HSBC Bank Nevada who's address is in an Illinois town. (go figure) The letter is filled with repetitive promises of respecting my privacy while sharing all my information. Can you say stupidly impossible? I have no idea why I got this letter, don't want it, don't know what credit card it's supposed to go with and have no intention of doing business with them anyway. Next step will be to file with attorney general, I guess. Any ideas out there?

I also have been getting these 2 page letters by this company. After doing some digging, I came to the realization that this is the company Bowflex uses for its accounts. Perhaps you bought something "on credit" that you made/are making payments on that you do not know is HBSC? -P

In the privacy statement, it states that you can close the account by writing to :Card security dept. Po box 703 wood dale Il 60191-0703
Of course, you will be responsible for the balance of the account, and possibly to return your "card" to them. -hopefully you didn't cut it up and throw it away!

HSBC is a huge bank that services many store brand credit cards and other retail accounts from catalogs etc. you probably have one of those. Take all of your credit cards and call their customer service dept and ask if HSBC manages this credit card, I am sure you will find that you do have a credit account with this bank. I am so tired of the American public not taking responsibility for their actions and immediately wanting to sue or report to their attorney general before doing their homework and finding out it is THEIR mistake.
