LVNV FUNDING - MCI Ruined my credit Greenville South Carolina

This mess started with MCI stating that I had made some long distance calls by using their promotion of 1010321 at a residence I no longer resided at when the calls where made. MCI requested from me a utlity bill to show proof that I had moved. I was able to show proof from the utility company (SMUD) that I was not at the address at the time the long distance calls were made from 1010321. Even when I did stay at the apartment I did not even use that service. I sent all my proof to the MCI Fraud and Analysis department as requested. They reviewed my case and closed the case.

However, several months later I find out my case was sent to a collection agency by the name of LVNV Funding Inc and of course I was furious because MCI had closed the case. Everytime I contacted someone at MCI they always passed the buck by stating that I needed to contact LVNV funding because they were no longer handling.Nevertheless, everytime I contact LVNV funding I either got no answer or someone that claimed that this bill was due because it was sent by MCI because they still wanted to collect on the debt. I explained to them how I sent all my proof to MCI stating that this bill was not mine. This nightmare is showing up as a deragortory status on my credit report every month and causing me to lose points on my fico score. I do not have money for an attorney, but will be more than happy to get in a class action suit with someone that may be having a similiar problem. I would really like to have this removed off my credit report soon. So if anyone has any advice on how to make this happen that is legit, not expensive, or free please post a response to me.
