Although, this happened over 4 years ago it might be of some interest to others. I bought a camera from Prestige and lost the instruction booklet. When I tried to get one from the manufacturer and they refused because the camera was from purchased thought the grey market.

If a price seems to good to be true, it probably is

It's common

AUTHOR: Edgeman - Chico (U.S.A.)

For a lot of the Brooklyn camera stores to pull this tactic. You'll also see this on eBay, where the sellers call the camera "imported".

Gray market cameras may be slightly cheaper, but be aware that some camera makers like Nikon or Canon may choose not to service your camera if it needs repairs.

Always check a company's rating on resellerratings.com and if you're going to buy an import camera, do it through a store like B&H who at least offer a store warranty and have the technicians to repair cameras.

I myself prefer to only buy USA cameras.
