Select Inn internet ripoff Dickinson North Dakota

I made a reservation on the internet. I received an internet confirmation number and printed this information out on my computer printer. I secured the room with my mbna credit card. I took this information with me to the motel.

I am a handicapped senior citizen. Upon my arrival my wife went into the motel office to get our room key. She told the clerk she had a reservation and it was confirmed. The clerk said the motel needed an actual credit card and that he couldn't charge to the card number used on the internet. As I was in the car, and ill, she asked if she could charge the room to her card. The clerk said that was ok.

When my wife and I received our credit card statements we were both charged for the room on the same night.

I talked to the owner and he said the internet reservation was a no show and he didn't know we had arrived. Therefore we were stuck for the double billing. Roger(owner) said he and his wife were the only ones doing the recieving for guests.

The actual clerk in this issue said he had only been there for 2 weeks. This leads me to believe the owner never checked us in, but his help did.

We don't know if this is an internet ploy or an inept motel owner, however look out!
