Having purchased a Walmart MoneyCard almost a year ago, I wouldn't have thought Walmart to even be close to a company stealing from its consumers so blatantly.
On Aug. 28, 2009 (I have all receipts to prove my claim) I loaded my money-card with $400.00 and paid the $3.00 (fee); I had planned to rent a car for the weekend. I had no problem from the car rental company.
On Sept. 2, 2009 I added an additional $200.00 to make a payment to my electric company. Upon returniing the vehicle I was overcharged. The car rental place reimbursed/reversed charges assessed to my Walmart MoneyCard along with the deposit that is required for the rental of any vehicle via a prepaid card.
As of today, these funds have NOT been placed back into my account and Walmart MoneyCard claims I owe them. Now, as ignorant as this company obviously shows - I have a record of their daily CHANGES made to my account and also a hard copy of each purchased transaction done via this particular card, not to mention a statement from the car rental place - to reimburse funds referenced to said card.
According to Walmart MoneyCard, it will take approximately ten days (10 days) for them to complete their review and should they find I am due a refund it will be disbursed accordingly. Various staff (telephone aids) have recognized this fraudulent behavior – literally agreeing with me.
Currently there sits a balance of $86.37 pending from the car rental – completely recognized monies due to me, the consumer. Walmart MoneyCard claims to have not received these funds back from the company who reversed the charges – out right lie – I have proof.
Walmart MoneyCard has stolen $147.00 from me; along with a new charge that's been recovered by them - this $3.00 monthly maintenance fee. Not part of my initial agreement with them.
Very clear, this is corruption!
Despite the minute dollar amount needing rectification, I will undoubtedly pursue legal actions against this company. There are too many innocent people about that don't have the pleasure of GIVING their hard earned money away. I for one am not going to make them wealthier by allowing them to STEAL from me or anyone else – KNOWINGLY!
I beg all those who've been subjective to their current fraudulent behaviors to get in tow - we need to IMMEDIATELY collectively stop this behavior!!!
