YOU FELL FOR AN OLD SCAM

AUTHOR: Laurie - Haslet (U.S.A.)

You will never hear from them or receive any money - there was no money, no winnings - nothing but a scam to get you to send them money.   Which you did

If this was legitimate - that 450. would have been taken from the amount before you ever got a check.

The fact that this came out of Dubai - was 1 RED FLAG that it was a scam

Request to send money in order to receive the winnings is the 2nd RED FLAG

Scottie:

You just got screwed.  This is a Scam, you will never see your money.

Never, Ever, Ever, and there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.  This is a fraud.

Why did you think you just won 287,000 for something in dubai?

LOL

AUTHOR: Jes0125 - Salem (U.S.A.)

Someone once said there is a sucker born every minute.  Unfortunately for you this time it is you.

I would consider that a $450.00 (plus $11 odd) lesson about what not to do when something sounds too good to be true.

I don't understand...

AUTHOR: Ronny g - North hollywood (USA)

You got a email from Dubai.(I don't even know where the hell that is on a map)..how does anyone in Dubai know your email??? And then it says you won money in a promotion..so you need to send THEM money?

Yes..it's a scam of course..just read another one here tonight but this person sent over $3,000...I just don't get it. Why if you won any money, would you be required to do anything but collect the money?

If someone told me I won anything and asked me to send money..I would tell them "just deduct it from my winnings and keep yourself a $100 tip". Then I would send them my "personal" phone number..which would be the number for the FBI you can get from their website.

How do you win a contest you never entered?!!

AUTHOR: CAGAL - (USA)

You got played, plain & simple.  This is one of the most well known scams on the face of the planet.  Why would you need to pay money to get money?  Do you even know where Dubai is (near the Persian Gulf)?  Did you enter a sweepstakes located in Dubai? And if you didn't, how could you possibly win a contest you never entered?  And how would this person know your email address?  If it sounds too good to be true, it is.  It's sad & surprising that people are still falling for this.

I got those emails also

AUTHOR: Steph - Minor Hill (USA)

I have gotten those emails also telling me I had some $ to pick up. I called Western union and punched the MTN  after I did that it said there was no $ so I emailed them back and told them they were full of Sh*t and I was not going to fall for thier scam and if they tried again I would report them to the FBI
