Captial One Bank ripoff McLean Virginia

I paid off this account and cancelled it. One month later I received a bill for 29.99 worth of late fees that has grown to over 100 dollars by the time I could contact them. The check was sent in a pre-addressed envelope with my proper return address and was never returned to sender. Virtually impossible to be lost by mail. I could not contact them being that the account was cancelled and you need a valid accouunt to access Capital One by phone. I belive that they disregarded my check on purpose to stick me with hundreds of dollars worth of late fees. This was a very conniving a devious attempt to make a few extra dollars on their behalf. I will not pay this outrageous atrocity of late fees that have run amuck due the inability to contact them with a cancelled account.
