No matter how desperate you are, do not do business with Chase, it's parent corp, or any affiliated business.

I had a small credit card with them which I used for eBay. Believe it or not, Chase took it upon themselves to change me to "online billing." In this world of spam and phishing, this would be a real mistake. I certainly never wanted this or agreed to this. When I discovered this, I called customer service. Guess where they are--India. These people were not able to even speak English other than reading a script.

The result? I tried and tried to close my account. It took me three months. And now I see that Chase attached a derogatory statement to my credit.

I highly recommend that every person on this planet close their Chase account. Look at this:

Chase Manhattan made good on this problem

It is only fair to report that Chase Manhattan responded to my complaint to the Better Business Bureau. They satisifed this situation by compying with my two requests: 1) They sent to remove this erroneous item from my credit and 2) They offered me something that resembles an apology.

My opinion is that doing business with India (or Phillipines, etc) will inevitably bite you in the buttox. If you think that you are going to save money at the expense of my time and blood pressure, think again.

I also reported these idiots to the Federal Trade Commission. Until they rethink their business model, my advise still stands. Stop doing business with Chase Manhattan. Your valuable information is in the hands of strangers on the oppoiste side of the world. Which is why I involved the FTC. I want my file purged from their system.

By the way, the Better Business Buruea resolved this issue

I did turn them in to the BBB (Better Business Buruea). The BBB was able to resolve the situation--and quick. Certainly I had documentation, they have clout. I never had to speak with any idiots from India. I doubt the BBB did.

Remember, if you get a credit card from Chase, you are susseptible for those wonderful calls to people in countries that should not have access to your credit information.

The BBB will not be able to help you out when one of these representatives takes your ID and sells it to foreign interests.

Do not do business with Chase.
