These guys are UNBELIEVEABLE. I did not want another credit card, but I did one of those 16 months, no interest deals on a TV at Circuity City. Right from the start I had problems. First, I always pay my bills online so when my first bill came I went to their website to set up my bank account. It went smoothly (on my end), but imagine my surprise when I got my next statement and my payment had been declined (along with my $35 late fee). I called them to find out the deal. They said my bank account hadn't been approved. I had plenty of money in there, so I asked for the account number they had. EVERY DIGIT was off. I work on computers for a living, so if I input a number, say 123456789 and it comes out 56tfghj890987 on the other end, I have no control over that and I would classify that as a computer glitch on their end. I finally straightened out that mess, and didn't fret too much over the $35, my time is too valuable. The next bill I got had a due date of 12/31. For those of you who went out on New Year's Eve, you know it was a Saturday. In my holiday celebrations, I admit I forgot to process a payment and didn't do so until Sunday 1/1. Another late fee. I called and asked them as a courtesy to remove it because of my original set-up fiasco and secondly becuase this was a holiday and they were closed, so it didn't matter if I processed the payment on my due date or on the 1st, they were closed and wouldn't get paid any faster. Nope. Their cold response was, "We don't refund late charges". But the kicker was this: I logged on to pay my bill which was due on 1/31 a day early on 1/30, and found that they now charge a 14.95 "CONVENIENCE FEE" to process a payment online or by phone. RIDICULOUS!! I have been paying virutally every bill I have online for over 5 years and NEVER has any company charged me a "convenience fee" for them to receive my money faster!! Online payments are just as convenient for them as they are for us. Naturally I was pissed, so I called them. They were so incredibly rude (and believe me, I was very nice and professional in the beginning) so I asked for the Supervisor (she took over 10 minutes to come on the line) who was even more rude and short with me. I asked them about the fee, and their response was, "yes we started that on 1/26." I asked, "did you notify us that you were going to now charge this fee?" Her response was (and I swear this is verbatim) "We don't have to inform the cardholders about fee changes, it's in their agreements. We posted this information online on 1/26". To which I responded, "the only time 99% of cardholders come to your website is when their payment is due. Do you think it's fair to change this policy and just post it on your website for people to discover?" No response. I then threatened to cancel my card, she could care less. "Go ahead" she said, in a rude tone of voice. So I cancelled my card right then. I am used to dealing with American Express and my online bank Netbank who are both so wonderful to deal with over the phone. NEVER had a dealt with a company with such a "F*** the customer" attitude. Oh, one more thing about this lovely company. When I logged on to pay my bill on 1/30 (one day before my due date), I was met with a statement in bold headlines, "You must make a payment by 2/6 to avoid us adding a late payment entry to your credit profile". Wow, they threaten to add a late payment entry to your credit BEFORE your due date. This absolutely rubbed me the wrong way. I have A+ credit and virtually NO negative entrys/late pays on my credit (actually checked it last night). For them to threaten me in this way is a first, and is also unbelieveable. DON'T PATRONIZE THESE UNREASONABLE, RUDE, FEE-HAPPY A**HOLES!!
