Clout Visa being sued for charges that werent made and the companys phone is disconnected Ripoff Bronx new york

i open a clout visa in may of 2002 when i received a phonecall from the credit card company insisting i open an account with them i never signed anything aggreeing to any terms and conditions. the credit limit was $900 i didnt spend $900 just yesterday i received a letter from a law office informing me that i was being sued for non-payment in the amount of $2707.17!!!! im totally in shock this credit card completely ruined my credit I only spent $600 on the card and after making a fee payment si didnt receive a bill for a long time. the next time i received a bill it stated i had made several purchases from a catalog company (purchases i know i didnt make) i called the credit card company immediately and disputed the charges they were removed and i thought everything was fine then i received a new bill stating new charges from the same catalog company wwas placed on the card i called again and i wanted to know how they could keep letting charges go through on the card when it was severly over the limit im not responisble for these charges and i need help to correct this matter i tried to call the company today but the phone is disconnected if anyone has any advice please let me know-thanks
