credit one bank They gave me a credit card. I specifically asked them if their 5.75 fee was in addition to the 69. one time fee and they told me it was not. It was what they charged to pay it off City of Industry California

I had applied for a credit card with this company.  In the initial paperwork I was told there was a 69. yearly fee.  Which I was ok with.  I only wanted to rebuild my credit after a bankruptcy.  And I know I have to pay the fees.  I got the card and I noticed it stated I had a 69. one time enrollment fee and would be billed $5.75 a month.  I called the rep to see if this was in addition to the 69. one time enrollment fee.  She said no it would pay off the 69 yearly fee.  So I activated the card.  When I got my statement in the mail I noticed there is a 69.  one time fee and a 69 annual fee.  Tricky wording and advertising is wrong.  So for a $250.  credit limit I paid $170. When I again called the rep she informed me I still would pay the fees if I cancelled plus a $3.00 cancellation fee.

Really I understand I have to pay to rebuild my credit but I don't feel I have to be lied to.  When will we have honest companies in the United States.  I am willing to pay however I am not willing to do business with dishonest companies.  And I will let everybody know if I have a bad experience with a company.  I have always paid my bills on time and owned homes and cars but due to unfortunate events I was put into a situation that I had no options.  American companies should just be honest I am willing to pay but not to dishonest people.

I haven't had any problems with Credit One

AUTHOR: purselamplady - San Angelo (USA)

I also have an account with Credit One.  I just looked up my statement from last month and it shows the $69 fee for activation fee and $5.75 a month fee for processing.  I don't have any problem with that. $5.75 isn't a huge amount for that.  Other credit cards chard at least that.

If you pay your balance every month you won't get any finance fees in the first place.  That's how you rebuild your credit.  I've also had a bankruptcy and that's what I intend to do.  Once I have the thngs I want to buy I'll start using it primarily for gas.

As far as I know it's free to pay online.  I paid with my debit card and didn't get charged for that.  Did you pay with an e-check?  That's probably where the charge came from because that's usually done a differernt way, usually a 3rd party, such as Western Union.  That' how they want me to pay my car payment, so I use my bill pay on my debit card.

purselamplady this is a problem with all big banks

AUTHOR: Bman - Philadelphia (United States of America)

See if you can rebuild using a secured card or a account from a department store. The person that is building credit is planning to get a loan, or that is the assumption. The way the credit card industry is structured it is designed to target people with a propensity to spend more than they can afford. I advise educating yourself and a good place to begin is watching an easy to find film named: MAXED OUT. It will help explain the game that is being played against the American public. If you want to find out how we got into the mess we are in two films are helpful: THE CORPORATION and THE END OF POVERTY?
