My experience with this company is mild compared to many, but an example of how they manipulate their trusting customers.

After 48 months of paying for a leased credit card terminal and PIN pad, the machine was professionally packed, insured and mailed to the proper address for FDLS. I watched everything go into the box, got the tracking number, date received and who signed for it at the destination. Nevertheless, another deduction for half of the regular lease payment showed up on my business bank account the next month.

Talking to employees there had no effect except to be told that I had only returned PART of the equipment!!! Thus the partial fee continuing to be taken from my account. How convenient that, after following every rule of my non-cancelable lease, including paying for a machine that was seldom used and unused at all after our business went under in 3 yrs, AND after following every instruction to the letter in terms of returning the precious equipment, due to employee error they get to continue to dip into my meager funds. Try to straighten that out with a representative on the phone!

More employee ineptitude followed as I, the customer, was given no follow-up calls as promised. Eventually I was told that the PIN pad was supposedly missing, while I assured them that I had an inventory and mailing documents of all that had gone into the package.
At this point I am waiting another 5 business days to see if my talks with a manager whom I finally reached has solved the issue.

Avoid dealing with this company! They are modern snake-oil salesmen. Buy a terminal outright and do not lease from anyone. I ended up paying $1,680.00 in lease fees over 4 years, and have nothing but frustration to show for it. I intend to make public in any way possible the treatment I have received. And no thanks to Jack Stryker of PNC Merchant Services in NJ who sold me this bill of goods and helped this company to do their dirty work.

(Not to mention a serious issue with processing credit cards during our first Christmas sales season which caused us embarrassment and was eventually traced back to a First Data problem.)

I work for Merchant Services, and I would advise you to never lease through First Data Global Leasing. If a Sales Rep tells you that you have to lease equipment, they are lying to get the commission. You can purchase the equipment up front at a fraction of the price that you would pay for a 3-4 year lease. FDGL is horrible to deal with as an FDMS employee, even more so a merchant/customer!
