Lowes Credit Card ripoff, inconsiderate Atlanta Georgia

My husband has had a credit card with lowes for quite some time now. We were late this month on our payment by 5 days. We received a phone call from lowes collections department for a payment that was only 5 days late. I explained that we would be making the payment on the 26th of november instead of the 11th of november.

They put the account into collections only after being late 5 days! The people there were also very rude. Why would lowes place the account into collection when the payment was only 5 days late? It is ridiculous and absurd.
Two months before this, we received a phone call from lowes (we were not even late) asking us if we would be willing to close our account!!!

And we had never been late on a payment! They offered us a special lower interest rate (reduced by 4 percent) if we were willing to close the account. When my husband asked them why they were offering this, they said they were offering this only to "certain" types of customers. Doesn't that constitute prejudice?
