Northern Leasing Never ending lease New York Nationwide

In October of 2003 we signed a lease with Northern Leasing for a period of 48 months. After two years we tried to cancel the lease but were informed that we could not do this, so we returned the equipment using the information they provided and continued to pay for the lease until its termination.
Well here it is 16 months after the termination of the lease per our signed contract and they still continue to deduct the monthly payments from our account. I've tried calling and emailing them to get this resolved and so far have hit alot of brick walls.
I guess thats the price you pay for being stupid. It seems that my only option is to close the business account that we've had for almost 30 years and open a new account just to get the debits to stop.
One would think that with all the complaints filed here and on other websites, that something could be done legally to put a stop to the deceptive practices of this company and others like them.

Never make personal guarantees when it comes to your business. You have incorporated in order to have some protection. Companies that do not want to acknowledge that incorporation and want to override it with a personal guarantee on your part ; are companies you do not need to deal with. Northern leasing has numerous traps in their contracts as do many other companies in the services category such as theirs. The best thing you can do is stay away from them. They're not making any personal guarantees to you or your company, so why should you. They are a corporation, if you incorporated, so is your business. Keep it that way, and NEVER make a personal guarantee when it comes to your business.
Northern leasing has a contract that never truly ends, they have a cancellation fee that occurs regardless that the contract has expired. Make sure the company you sign up with handles the credit card business and cannot sell it off! If they sell it off they are only brokering the business to take their share and could care less about your problems in the future.
