Pay Pal Floating off your money San Jose California

I recently sold an item on eBay and accepted payment through PayPal (owned by eBay). I used eBay's label printing service, ergo, entering into their database that I had shipped the item.

The item arrived at it's destination on March 24, 2009. Money should have been released on that day. I purchased an item using paypal on March 26, 2009. Had plenty of funds and then some, to cover the purchase from my paypal account. Paypal went to my bank instead. Shortage of funds in my bank account resulting in a bounced draft and a $25 ding against me from my bank. PayPal won't make good, even though they had placed a hold on my account that should have been released in plenty of time to cover the charge that was coming in.
