I used Pivotal Payments for about a year before I was too fed up with the lack of decent service and started to find a new provider. I knew I would be facing a hassle and probably cancellation fees, but didn't realize what a mess it really was.
The service was terrible: total terminal outages, very slow processing, double and triple charges on my customers resulting in a lot of angry customers, 10-20 minutes on hold to speak to useless customer service reps, weeks at a time with no debit service, hour long downloads to try to fix problems and on and on. It turned into daily headaches to use them.
I now feel that their system of trapping us in non-cancellable leases with third party leasing companies amounts to organized crime. Instead of having an incentive to provide good service to keep their customers, they profit more from driving us away and cashing in on all the cancellation fees.
I had never had one problem over 10 years with my other provider, and was lured away by promise of lower fees. Having never experienced problems, I didn't know a company could be so riddled with them. I assumed that if they specialized in processing payments, and Visa and Mastercard was trusting them enough to allow them to be involved in thier business, it must be safe. This was the biggest mistake in my 14 years in business.
I'm early in the process, but I'm sure this is going to hurt my credit rating, result in endless harrassment, and generally drive me crazy. I'm debating whether to just pay up and walk away wiser, or dig in for a long fight.
I really feel this is a fraudulent system they have set up, trapping people like this.
