On December 11, 2004 I made a purchase on my Target Visa. I got married on December 21, 2004 and moved that same week. I decided on December 28, 2004 to pay my balance over the phone. I was quoted the amount of $204.09. I paid using my wells fargo checking account, I told the operator I had moved and gave her my new address and phone #, closed the account and then I requested a zero balance statement showing that my balance was paid in full.

TWO DAYS LATER(December 30,04) I CALLED TO VERIFY THAT MY ACCOUNT BALANCE WAS PAID IN FULL AND HAD INDEED BEEN CLOSED AND THAT A ZERO BALANCE STATEMENT WAS ON IT'S WAY. I was assured that the balance was paid and the acct was closed. I never received any further calls or paperwork from Target Visa, and because I had double checked I figured this account was settled.

On June 28th I retrieved a copy of my credit report from Transunion which showed that my account was delinquent by 60 days (going on 90). I disputed this report with transunion and called Target Visa on July 21, 05. I told them I had paid off the balance I was quoted AND THAT I VERIFIED THAT IT HAD BEEN PAID two days later. I spoke with Target Visa supervising operator Frank (employee# VO3512) for about 20 minutes and thouroughly discussed the problem. He refused to take any action on my account except for demanding a payment of $11.11, which was obviously a company error since I paid the balance in full in December AND VERIFIED IT. Frank also refused to take any action to remove this error from my credit report.

Only after calling back to request transaction details did an operator offer to remove the $5 interest charged on the $6.11 that I purportedly never paid. I paid the $6.11 over the phone on July 21,04, though I feel that I am not liable for this amount because of my previous precaution in verifying that this account had received its due attention and was paid in full and closed. Therefore I would like a refund of $6.11, and I would like the untruthful delinquency blemishes removed from my credit report immediately.
