Bibit Internet Payments Tried unauthorized charges on AMEX x2 Internet

Received call this Sunday evening from AMEX Delta Gold; Bibit Internet group charged $19, AMEX accepted and paid. But then, they tried to charge $49 again just several seconds later. AMEX denied that 2nd attempt and called me. AMEX detected it quickly, canceled the card immediately, and won't charge me.

They noted the charges were "irregular" and "outside my personality" on profile, which also scares me.

This is obviously a serious problematic pattern given what I've read on this site. I hope AMEX is investigating, b/c it is apparently differentially affecting them relative to other credit card companies.

I had used my card the night before to charge dinner & drinks at a restaurant. I hope this isn't something whereby waitstaff are figuring out how to use AMEX fraudulently; I'm always concerned when they take me card in back. Someday, we may have to insist that the card is charged in front of us, right at the table...
