They profile customers by their payment history, spending habits, tenure amongst other factors that are related to the lending of credit. The reason they stopped giving you info when you stated that you were recording is because it is their policy to do so as soon as you indicate a call is recorded. You say they have something to hide, they may beleive you are trying to get them to say something to put them in a liable position which is of course quite obviously your intention if it was not to trick the supervisor into "agreeing" with you or releasing information that would support your assumption. How pretell did they indicate this may be the case?
