I am very upset, un-happy and displeased with American Express, all of a sudden they decreased my spending limit without a warning, they sold me a product emphasizing in "no preset limit", but change their views as they please, creating problems on my credit report because now it shows that my revolving balance is maxed out.

I thought I was a very good customer for AMEX, not only paying very high interest every month, but always on-time and way above the minimum, I feel insulted and embarrassed when they rejected a purchase of a little over $1000.00

This is what I'm going to do:

- I'm going to pay-off my account as soon as I can

-Once my account is paid-off, I will cancel it (both me and my wife), they will never get a penny out of me, ever as long as I live.

-On my business, I'm going to stop accepting AMEX

-I'm going to contact the federal entity that regulates bank and credit card companies and file a complaint

-I'm going to post my experience with AMEX everywhere I can, I'm sure I'm not the only customer they are abusing in this manner, maybe if enough of us get together we file a "CLASS ACTION"

P.S. I've been an AMEX customer for 12 years, never late (not once), always paid more than the minimum, I understand that I have a high balance, but I always have, and as a matter of fact my balance now is about 50% of what it was 4 month ago

Don't bother

Amex is slashing their credit exposure (as is their right to do per your agreement) in a big way.   If you do get your account paid off, it's likely that they'll close the account before you get around to it.   They are shedding accounts at an alarming rate these days.  Back in February, they were actually paying some customers up to $300 to voluntarily close their accounts.   I guess they've found that it's cheaper just to just pester their customers into leaving.

Good luck with your "CLASS ACTION".  You have no grounds for a suit.   Your agreement with Amex says they can change your terms whenever they feel like it.
